Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC) initiatives and Stakeholders: Engagement Strategies Practices (ESP)
Abstract
The subject of this chapter is the stakeholder Engagement Strategies Practices (ESP) in Smart & Sustainable Cities (SSC), shared urban development initiatives. The premise is that some factors and conditions influence stakeholder engagement decision-making. In the context of SSC, the ESP shows gaps in the efficiency and effectiveness of the stakeholder engagement process in fully meeting their objectives. The aim is to identify, synthesize, and evaluate the factors and conditions of ESP in strengthening stakeholder engagement decision-making. The work is carried out in three phases to meet the specific objectives: 1) Exploratory, applying a Systematic Literature Review; 2) Prospective, through two case studies in the context of SSC initiatives; 3) Explanatory, which involves conducting the protocol of presenting to a group of experts for evaluation. The contribution of this work is that the framework for strengthening ESP in SSC serves as an organized roadmap with accessible language for those who wish to take a leading role in sustainable urban development initiatives.
