Cybersecurity Implications for Digital Competence for Public Trust and Citizen Engagement
Abstract
This chapter explores the shift from traditional banking to E-Banking in India, emphasizing the increased convenience for customers. However, this transition has also led to a rise in online fraud and cyber threats. With hackers frequently targeting customer information, maintaining cybersecurity has become a significant challenge. The study focuses on enhancing customer awareness of electronic fraud prevention, cyber security, and the risks of hacking and phishing attacks. It also evaluates how nationalized banks address digital fraud awareness and cybersecurity. The research highlights the need for robust defenses and effective Know Your Customer (KYC) practices to protect customers and identifies factors contributing to bank fraud that remain unknown to users.
