Abstract

This research explores how gamification affects learning outcomes in higher education using artificial intelligence. Various gamification techniques are used for leader boards, badges, and interactive scenarios, which have been noted to increase engagement, motivation, and retention of information by students. When applied with artificial intelligence, these techniques yield adaptive learning experiences for each student in relation to his or her unique needs and pace. This chapter delves into the prominent AI-based tools which will promote personalized learning like intelligent tutoring systems and gamified platforms, with particularly daunting challenges in maintaining that fun component of educational value. This is developed through case studies and empirical research where AI-enhanced gamification leads to better academic outcomes and increased critical thinking and collaboration between students.
