Abstract

This chapter focuses on digital assessment methods and tools used to assess young children's development and learning. It first discusses the basic principles and approaches of assessment in early childhood education. It then presents the principles, advantages, and examples of digital assessments. Technology has the potential to improve the assessment process, and this chapter has discussed this potential. Also, this chapter provides some examples of digital assessment tools that assess various skills in young children. Apart from standardized tests, digital versions of informal assessments and performance-based assessments are discussed.
