Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is now becoming an integral part of human life. It is finding applications in almost all domains, such as healthcare, marketing, business development, manufacturing, transportation, etc. This chapter explores the applications of AI in enhancing hospital service quality and presents a framework for its development. The chapter begins by providing an overview of hospital service quality and highlighting the role of AI in healthcare. It emphasizes the importance of enhancing hospital service quality and introduces the need for an AI-driven framework. The foundations of AI in healthcare are then discussed, including its evolution and different types of AI technologies. The challenges in implementing AI in healthcare are also addressed. The chapter also includes applications that illustrate the successful application of AI. The framework development section focuses on understanding the current hospital service landscape and defining key metrics for hospital service quality.
