Abstract
Podcasting has transformed from a niche medium into a global phenomenon, reshaping digital communication and challenging traditional media paradigms. This chapter explores the historical development of podcasting, its rapid expansion, and its cultural and technological significance. It examines podcasting's comparative advantages over traditional broadcasting, including accessibility, engagement, and educational effectiveness. Additionally, the chapter analyzes key audience demographics, highlighting the medium's appeal to urban, educated, and affluent listeners. Practical insights into content creation, such as storytelling techniques, scripting strategies, and production quality are discussed, alongside the challenges of market saturation, technical barriers, and algorithmic discoverability. By synthesizing contemporary research, this chapter mark's podcasting's role as a democratizing force in media while addressing its limitations and future prospects.
