Abstract
Imagine wearing the clothes that don't just provide you comfort but also keep a supervising eye on your health and the environment around you. Smart textiles fabric embedded with sensors is making it all a reality. The latest-gen apparel can monitor vital parameters, sense changes in the environment, and collect real-time data without administering any invasive therapies. This chapter explores how materials science, flexible electronics, and biomedical innovation come together to create these smart fabrics. We will walk you through some of the different types of sensors from those that monitor heart rate and levels of hydration to those that detect pollutants and UV radiation. We also examine how sensors are incorporated into clothing using methods like conductive yarns and printed electronics. with ongoing research and breakneck advancements, smart textiles are about to transform the way we care for our wellbeing and our environment stylishly and comfortably.
