Abstract

The examination of the non-profit sector focuses on rooting the principles of equitable resource distribution between all the community members. The appropriation of the potential of this sector meets Islamic objectives in terms of fostering the basis of equity and social solidarity. Indeed, the foundations of the Islamic economy are based on improving the economic and social well-being within Islamic Countries, in particular, by carrying out non-profit activities to reinforce the equitable distribution of funds. This practice has given rise to socio-economic reconsiderations, such as zakat. The objective of this chapter is to carry out a detailed investigation relying on the place of zakat institutions, within Islamic Countries, in simulating the aspirations of the non-profit sector. To this end, the study uses bibliometric methodology with RStudio. In addition, this research presents an additional framework for examining the impacts of zakat on economic and social development through reinforcing the third sector activities.
