From Self-Awareness to Social Skills: The Journey of Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
Abstract
The importance of emotionally intelligent leadership is paramount in this age of accelerating technological innovation and transforming interpersonal relationships. Emotionally Intelligent (EI) leadership is different from conventional management in that it promotes healthier working conditions and leads to more noteworthy achievements by centring on the growth of self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills. The outcomes of emotionally intelligent leadership on organisational culture are addressed in this chapter along with its guiding principles. Despite traditional theories, which frequently fail to account for the humanistic components of workplace dynamics, EI leadership takes these into perspective. This chapter sheds light on how leaders can improve their performance and have a positive impact in organisational settings by emphasising tactics for developing emotional intelligence. The impact on organisational climate, the ability of EI to transform leadership, and the function of EI in developing interpersonal and intrapersonal capacities are important themes.
