Culturally Responsive Leadership Innovations in Career Support for Latino Students
Abstract
This chapter explores the critical role of leadership and management in higher education institutions in supporting the career aspirations of Latino students. While Latino enrollment in colleges and universities continues to grow (Garcia, 2019), systemic barriers persist that hinder their career advancement, particularly in management and leadership roles (Garcia, 2021). These obstacles include inadequate mentorship, limited access to professional networks, and a lack of culturally responsive leadership practices (Delgado-Romero et al., 2022; Gonzalez & Ruiz Alvarado, 2022). Without intentional and inclusive strategies, many Latino students face an uneven transition from academic success to professional achievement (Castillo-Montoya, 2020).
