Abstract
This chapter examines how artificial intelligence is being integrated into ESG compliance frameworks in education, raising critical ethical and psychosocial concerns. Through real and hypothetical case studies, the chapter explores how AI is used to monitor environmental impact, track indicators of inclusion, and automate governance processes. It highlights the risks of emotional surveillance, data commodification, and biased predictive systems, especially when students are not active participants in data governance. The authors propose a governance framework based on modular consent, ethical impact assessments, participatory design, and accountability mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on protecting student autonomy, emotional integrity, and the developmental mission of education. Ultimately, the chapter calls for reflexive and justice-centered approaches to AI in education, where ESG metrics do not replace pedagogy, but are aligned with human dignity and ethical responsibility
