Abstract

The metaverse is transforming architecture by enabling innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and immersive client engagement through VR and digital twins. These technologies allow architects to design without physical or financial limitations, fostering creativity and real-time feedback. However, as virtual spaces grow, concerns about hate speech and content moderation arise, complicating regulation due to AI-driven avatars, voice interactions, and global legal inconsistencies. While AI tools help detect and mitigate harmful content, challenges around free speech, algorithmic bias, and regulatory fragmentation remain. Legal frameworks like the EU's Digital Services Act and UN digital rights guidelines highlight the complexity of balancing moderation with digital freedoms. A collaborative approach among AI developers, policymakers, and legal experts is essential to ensuring safe and inclusive virtual environments.
