Abstract

Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are established as crucial mechanisms for addressing critical social and infrastructure challenges, leveraging synergies between public institutions and private sector resources. PPPs hold immense potential to foster sustainable development, particularly in social infrastructure, community development, and economic growth. This chapter explores the role of PPPs in social development by focusing on governance structures, stakeholder involvement, and integrating social responsibility principles into PPP frameworks. Drawing on recent literature and case studies, it provides insights into the challenges and opportunities of managing PPPs for social development, especially in the Indian context and how these partnerships can be structured to achieve sustainable and equitable outcomes. We mainly focused on PPPs' relevance and associated challenges and opportunities. We also tried to explore and identify the role of PPPs in sustainable business and its importance in corporate social responsibility.
