Alpha Generation's Perceptions of Paternalistic Leadership and Their Approaches to Communication
Abstract
The literature surrounding leadership styles and generational perceptions has evolved significantly over recent years, particularly as new cohorts continually enter and reshape the workforce landscape. This analysis begins with an in-depth examination of the communication dynamics found within multi-generational organizations. It emphasizes the pressing need for adaptability in traditional business communication practices, which must now respond to the diverse needs and preferences of various generational groups. Their findings highlight that millennials, often characterized as technically advanced and highly goal-oriented individuals, place a high value on innovation and collaboration in their workplace interactions. This suggests that communication strategies must evolve proactively to accommodate and reflect these essential traits of the younger workforce.
