Abstract

University music education programs are the cradle for cultivating musical talent, and students' overall competencies will directly influence the development of China's music sector. The teaching quality evaluation in university music programs is inherently a multi-attribute group decision-making problem. To address such complex evaluations, methodologies, like TODIM (TOmada de Decisão Iterativa Multicritério) and evaluation based on distance from average solution (EDAS), are often utilized. Given the prevalence of imprecise information in this domain, intuitionistic fuzzy sets offer a suitable framework for capturing qualitative and uncertain data. This study proposes a novel integrated model, the intuitionistic fuzzy number-based TODIM-EDAS method, specifically designed for solving multi-attribute group decision-making problems within an intuitionistic fuzzy set context. The development of this hybrid framework aims to enhance decision-making robustness. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed intuitionistic fuzzy number-TODIM-EDAS technique are validated through a detailed numerical case study focused on the teaching quality evaluation in university music programs, demonstrating its practical utility.
