Abstract
Innovation and sustainability are essential drivers that are changing the course of the tourism and hospitality industry. With the industry being subjected to more environmental, social, and economic pressures, it is vital to have sustainable practices coupled with innovative solutions to ensure long-term prosperity. This research investigates the contribution of sustainability and innovation towards better operating efficiency, customer satisfaction, and environmental conservation by travel agencies and three-star hotels. Through gathering and examination of questionnaire data from industry workers, the study extracts relevant determinants of sustainable development and innovation take-up. Sophisticated methodologies, such as Particle Swarm Optimization for selecting features and a Bi-stacked Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) for analyzing sequential data, are applied in order to reveal insightful trends and patterns.
