Abstract
This chapter discussed the necessity of strong protective measures and the inherent challenges of cybersecurity in the hospitality sector. As hotels increasingly rely on digital systems to import guest experiences, they become prime targets for cybercriminals. The chapter lists major cyber threats and highlights their influence on customer confidence and financial stability. These threats include malware, phishing, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, and insider threats. It also addresses the human factor in cybersecurity. By examining the case studies of notable breaches impacting companies such as Marriott, IHG, and Hilton, the chapter offers valuable insights into the comprehensive cybersecurity strategies that include risk assessment, employee training, and the adoption of established frameworks. Cybersecurity awareness can strengthen the defence, safeguard sensitive data, and guarantee long term sustainability of the hospitality industry with leveraging cutting edge technologies.
