Abstract
Emerging technologies and digital media are continually transforming the ways people interact with music and augment the ways of music expression, creation, learning, and education. Children of today's era grow up in a digital environment that shapes their musical preferences and experiences, contributing to new kinds of musical literacies. As digital natives, they have acquired diverse musical stimuli compared to their parents and teachers, which they expect to engage with them. In this context, the role of digital technology in music classes can play a fundamental role in enhancing participation and forming inclusive music teaching-learning environments. Besides, the incorporation of technology from an educational perspective gives opportunities for cultivating equity and eliminating barriers to musical learning. The aim of this chapter is to encourage a new approach to music education that integrates educational technology to promote inclusion in music teaching and learning.
