Abstract
This study aimed to explore the cognitive abilities and executive functioning behaviors of students with ASD at an autism center in the UAE, employing the SB-5 and the teacher form of the BRIEF2. The findings provide important insights into the cognitive and executive function profiles of these students, highlighting the intricate relationships between various cognitive domains, executive function behaviors, and the impact of ASD severity and notable talents. The positive correlations observed between different SB-5 IQ measures (e.g., full-scale IQ, nonverbal IQ, verbal IQ, and working memory IQ) and the shift scale of the BRIEF are consistent with the findings of previous studies that highlight the link between cognitive flexibility and intelligence.
