Abstract

This study explores the challenges and opportunities in promoting eco-friendly tourism in the mountainous areas of Jharkhand, India. As tourism continues to grow, these regions face significant environmental and infrastructural hurdles, including inadequate facilities and limited community involvement. However, there are notable opportunities for sustainable development through improved infrastructure, enhanced environmental awareness, and supportive government policies. By analyzing key variables—such as infrastructure adequacy, local community perceptions, government support, environmental awareness, economic benefits, and tourist satisfaction—this research highlights the critical factors influencing eco-friendly tourism. The findings suggest that addressing infrastructure deficiencies, engaging local communities, and fostering robust policy frameworks are essential for sustainable tourism development in Jharkhand's mountainous regions.
