Abstract

Translation plays a critical role in bridging language barriers, and its evolution is closely tied to advancements in technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). AI has revolutionized translatio industry. These innovations have facilitated multilingual communication, offering cost-effective solutions while presenting challenges, such as ethical concerns and changing professional roles. Research highlights the need to adapt university translation programmes to prepare future translators for an AI-driven industry. Despite AI's growing role, human expertise remains vital, as dependency on AI poses risks in high-stakes multilingual communication. This study analyzes the integration of AI in university translation programmes by examining programme descriptions and institutional policies from publicly available sources. Employing content analysis, the research explores how AI is incorporated into undergraduate and postgraduate translation curricula, assessing its impact on the preparation of translators and interpreters for evolving industry demands.
