Abstract

This paper outlines a new approach to computer security which will if successful, lead to policy recommendations. We suggest that understanding the interactions between humans and information systems is central to creating effective security policy. Most previous research has focused on technical issues of system vulnerability or computer security tools. Our approach employs simulation models in order to understand how attackers and users react to varying levels of parameters such as computer security and system value.
