Designing Virtual Teamwork for Creativity: Strategies for Higher Education
Abstract
This chapter examines the dynamics of virtual teamwork in higher education, emphasizing tactics that foster innovation and collaboration among students. With the growing prevalence of online learning, the necessity for efficient virtual collaboration tools and methodologies is critical. The chapter delineates essential techniques, encompassing the selection of varied team members, the formation of explicit roles, and the promotion of an inclusive culture that fosters open communication. It underscores the need of employing digital tools that enhance brainstorming and project management, so enabling students to participate actively in their learning experiences. The chapter also discusses potential hurdles, including communication impediments and cultural differences, and provides strategies to surmount these limitations. Through the use of these tactics, instructors can cultivate a supportive environment that promotes innovation and equips students for the collaborative requirements of the contemporary workforce.
