Author's/Editor's Biography

Miguel-Angel Sicilia (Ed.)
Miguel-Angel Sicilia is an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Alcalá. He has a five year degree in computer science from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He has worked at the same university as lecturer for some time, and he also worked for several companies in the IT sector till he joined Carlos III University as an assistant professor. He obtained a PhD in computer science from Carlos III University in 2003 and in 2008, a postgraduate degree in bioinformatics from the Open University of Catalonia. Since 2001, he has been a virtual tutor for the Open University of Catalonia. His current research interests include information systems, service science, metadata and ontologies, and in general applied computational techniques and machine learning. He has published more than thirty papers in international journals and served on the editorial boards or scientific committees of numerous international journals and conferences.
