The Metaverse: Redefining Learning Spaces and Educational Experiences
Abstract
This chapter examines the transformative capacity of the Metaverse in education, emphasizing how immersive technologies like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are redefining the traditional education environment. This chapter analyses essential components such as virtual classrooms, digital twins, and immersive learning experiences, illustrating how educators can utilize these innovations to improve student engagement, collaboration, and learning results. It also discusses the used cases of various components of metaverse that are executed in Metaverse-oriented educational settings, providing insights into existing applications, prospective developments, and anticipated progressions. The chapter examines the role of stakeholders in metaverse-based education, researchers, and policymakers, as well as a thorough comprehension of the opportunities and problems associated with developing inclusive and participatory learning experiences within the Metaverse.
