Abstract
Over the past two decades, socially responsible investment has garnered significant attention from academics and investors alike, which are increasingly aware of the social and environmental impact of corporate activities. Since the 2000s, the global SRI market has experienced steady growth, driven by the emergence of social and environmental standards and regulations developed by various international organizations. In 2018, the Moroccan financial market took a significant step forward with the introduction of the MASI.ESG index, designed to enhance visibility for responsible investors seeking to construct SRI portfolios. The primary objective of our research is to examine how the temporal and spatial development of SRI has influenced the orientation of institutional investors toward both ethical and financial goals, thereby impacting their investment decisions. To achieve this, we conducted an in-depth desk research to identify, collect, and analyze relevant data on the evolution of the SRI market in Morocco. Our focus is on the Moroccan stock market and its institutional investors
