Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming human capital management in academic and research environments. This chapter examines how AI is integrated into talent acquisition, development, performance evaluation, and workforce planning in higher education and research organizations. AI technologies reshape roles, automate tasks, and provide predictive insights that influence decision-making. The chapter synthesizes academic literature and case studies to highlight patterns in AI adoption. It also presents conceptual models for future work, integrating perspectives from organizational behavior, data ethics, and machine learning interpretability. It emphasizes the role of academic institutions in shaping ethical AI use in human capital decisions .By evaluating methodological trends and outlining future research directions, this chapter serves as a roadmap for academics and students aiming to contribute to AI-driven human capital management and informs curriculum design that reflects emerging competencies in AI and HR management.
