Abstract

This study develops and tests a model of the key determinants of EIS utilization. The validity of the model is tested against data from 216 EIS users in the UK. The results suggest that perceived usefulness positively influence EIS use. Ease of use, information quality, user involvement, subjective norm, and facilitating conditions positively influence both use and perceived usefulness. Participation positively influences information quality and involvement, MIS maturity positively influences information quality, and use experience positively influences perceived ease of use, while, contrary to expectations, training had no influence on beliefs. Implications for theory and practice are outlined.
