Abstract

Modern structures for trash disposal should be established to ensure that methods of efficient waste management are put in place to conserve nature and the environment, especially in the countryside. This chapter aims to examine waste management technologies in rural areas, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of the used strategies. In the context of this research study, latent factors that define the execution of waste management projects are defined as the outcomes of a review of related literature and, second, case studies of several rural areas. Such elements are the involvement of community, government policies aimed at supporting, technologies, and funds. In terms of the issues of waste management, the outcomes indicate an opportunity to solve problems connected with waste management not only by applying legislation and education but also by using such assets as innovative practices. Thus, the chapter concludes that promoting and implementing sustainable WM in rural areas benefits the environment, health, economic development, and population quality of life.
