Abstract

This article explores the most recent developments and uses of waste management technologies. It examines biological treatment, thermal treatment, chemical recycling, and mechanical recycling, and highlights their latest developments and useful applications. The study also looks at new technologies that have the potential to improve waste management techniques, like nanotechnology, waste-to-energy (WtE) systems, and plasma gasification. The significance of these technologies for sustainability is highlighted, highlighting their positive effects on the environment, economy, and society, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using landfills, cost savings, job creation, and public health improvements. The article notes that despite these benefits, there are still obstacles to the general use of these technologies, including social acceptance, economic barriers, legal constraints, and technical restrictions.
