Abstract

The Roles of Faculty in Academy-Business Partnerships: Phronesis and Responsibilities in Teaching, Research, and Service explores the core band of employees in higher education—the faculty. What role faculty play is vital in maintaining standards and delivery of academia. Yet the current data shows alarming erosion of the professoriate. What phronesis and responsibilities do faculty have in the administration of higher education, and particularly, in the interface with businesses and corporations for academy-business partnerships? Issues of risk management, trust, power, ethics, and cooperation are considered.
