The Role of Educational Leadership and Management Research Methods in Addressing Socio-Economic and Security Challenges in South Africa: A Case Study of Gauteng Province
Abstract
This study explores the role of educational leadership and management in addressing socio-economic and security challenges in Gauteng, South Africa. The findings show that unemployment, poverty, and inequality contribute to crime and instability. Educational leadership has not sufficiently integrated with socio-economic development efforts. Recommendations include strengthening leadership training, adopting distributed leadership models, and fostering partnerships between schools, businesses, and government. The study advocates for data-driven decision-making and evidence-based policy development to better align educational initiatives with socio-economic goals. In conclusion, enhancing leadership and community partnerships can mitigate socio-economic disparities and improve security. Further research should explore the long-term impact of these leadership strategies and their scalability across different regions in South Africa. This will inform national reforms and strengthen the link between education, economic empowerment, and security.
