Abstract

AI technology is revolutionizing healthcare systems across the globe and holds tremendous potential for nursing practice in Pakistan. AI can alleviate nursing burden, generate relevant evidence-based information, as well as enhance the standard of care especially in underserved areas. It has the ability to simplify the care personalization and documentation process as well as aid in the delivery of patient centered care. Unfortunately, there are obstacles in the form of the presence of equity and inclusion issues, lack of accountability in the case of mistakes made, and failure to embrace change as a result of new technologies. Such challenges contribute to skepticism and trust in AI. This research investigates the role of AI in nursing practice in Pakistan as well as the opportunities and challenges it presents. It seeks to provide recommendations on how AI should be utilised in nursing practice to promote nurses' well-being and improve the overall health care system.
