Abstract

In recent years, the education sector in India has undergone significant changes with increased workloads, administrative pressures, and higher expectations from institutions. Work-life balance is a critical issue that impacts the professional and personal well-being of individuals in various fields, including education. This study focuses on the work-life balance of college teachers in the Darbhanga district of Bihar, a region known for its academic heritage and cultural significance. The role of college teachers is not only intellectually demanding but also emotionally and physically taxing, as they juggle teaching responsibilities, administrative duties, research work and personal commitments. These factors can disrupt the delicate balance between work and personal life, leading to stress, burnout, and reduced job satisfaction. For college teachers in rural and semi-urban areas like Darbhanga, these challenges are compounded by infrastructural limitations, socio-economic factors, and the unique cultural context of Bihar.
