Abstract
Water constitutes an essential element of the nation's common heritage. Its protection, enhancement, and sustainable development of its usable resources, while respecting natural balances, are of general interest. Water, vital for life and indispensable to all economic activities, is used in domestic, industrial, and agricultural sectors. Unfortunately, it is often contaminated by these various uses. Discharging these polluted waters into the natural environment can cause serious short-term and long-term problems, both for public health and hygiene, as well as for the ecosystem. Therefore, it is essential to treat these wastewater to restore their quality for reuse. This wastewater comes from food processing and conservation industries as well as domestic activities, amplified by the intense tourism activity in the region. Treating wastewater in the city of Agadir appears to be a useful solution to prevent degradation of receiving environments and simultaneously allows the production of purified water for irrigation.
