Abstract
Generative AI has numerous applications in education. This chapter investigates the use of AI tools among students in the context of learning mathematics. Guided by the Technology Acceptance Model, the study evaluates AI tools in terms of perceived ease of use, credibility, and usefulness. Data were collected from 67 education students major in mathematics at a public university in the Southern Philippines. Results show that a significant majority are already using AI tools to support their learning in mathematics. The popularity of these tools is attributed to features such as offline functionality, image-based input, and the ability to generate step-by-step solutions. The chapter offers insights into current practices of AI tool usage in mathematics learning and highlights its pedagogical implications. It concludes with practical recommendations for teachers and policymakers, supporting the need to shift current classroom practices in response to the growing AI integration in education.
