Abstract
The rapid urbanization and demand for efficient transportation drive the growth of Smart Transportation Systems (STS), enhancing urban mobility, accessibility, and sustainability through advanced technologies like AI, IoT, and big data. AI is pivotal in transforming transportation by making it more sustainable, safe, and efficient through technologies like computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing. This study explores AI's role in optimizing urban transportation to manage population growth, boost economies, reduce energy use, and improve quality of life. AI enables better traffic management, including dynamic routing, congestion avoidance, and traffic signal control, creating seamless, efficient urban transit.
