Smart Transportation System/Infrastructure: AI-Driven Innovations for Urban Transformation
Abstract
This Book chapter explains the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of smart transportation systems in urban areas, public safety and the environment. It also explores how AI technology is useful for urban mobility-transportation, enhancing efficiency, public safety, and sustainability. It also provides detailed information about various safety concerns, current transportation systems, different case studies of successful implementation projects in different urban areas, and the future development and potential of AI in urban transportation safety systems. This chapter also explores the advancements in autonomous vehicles, explaining the AI technologies that enable self-driving cars, their importance and their implications for urban transportation. The chapter concludes by addressing various challenges and ethical considerations of deploying AI in urban transportation systems, including data privacy, Public Safety, Security, and efficient use of AI tools and products.
