Abstract

The available observational data and modern experimental studies of the structure of waves in various excitable media, including biological populations and chemical mixtures, are analyzed. The results of experimental studies of both isothermal waves of chemical reactions and non-isothermal waves of chemical reactions with different activation energies, including strongly activated chemical reactions, are considered. The analysis is caused by the need to critically review the widely used asymptotic method for constructing models and the calculations of wave processes based on this method in nature and technology.
