Re-Imagining Educational Leadership in Tech-Driven Environments: Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract
The current teaching and learning environments are characterized by swift technological advances such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Chatbots, and Generative Pre-trained Transformers (ChatGPT) among other novel technological innovations. Consequently, the digital revolution has become obligatory for any educational institution in quest of success in a technologically permeated globe. As learning institutions shift into digital space to improve productivity, the roles of the manager and leader are in dire need of serious transformations. Leadership in the digital space ought to steer through the dynamic educational environment, espousing evolving technologies, and promoting the ethos of constant scholarship for their followers and working environment. This chapter explores the transformed leader and manager roles, experiences, challenges, and opportunities against the background of educational technological changes, underscoring the strategies, competencies, and tools needed to circumnavigate the ever-transforming digital-driven space.
