Abstract

Public Interplay in U.S. Higher Education: Federal and State Governments and Policy explores a brief history of governmental influence in higher education. Some discussion focuses on policies. Issues of risk management, trust, power, ethics, and cooperation are also considered. AASCU and AAUP provide some guidance to aid colleges and universities with checks and balances. New pressures of applied ethics and cooperation for institutional engagement and knowledge produced by faculty for public dissemination and impact are explored.
