Preserving Paradise: Combatting Waste Issues in Rural Tourism
Abstract
Many rural communities around the world face both environmental challenges and economic benefits as a result of the rapid development of rural tourism. This chapter focuses on the critical issue of waste management in these areas and highlights the need for sustainable practices to preserve the natural beauty that attracts tourists. Growing tourism puts a heavy burden on rural communities, which are often characterized by natural landscapes and cultural history. This leads to the production of a large amount of waste. In this chapter, the main points of waste problems related to rural tourism, their environmental impacts, and sustainable solutions are discussed.
