Mentoring and Empowering Employees: How to Develop Management Skills Through Mentoring
Abstract
Today's dynamic environment means that as many as five different generations may coexist in the workforce, so companies need to nurture their employees' development. This policy is vital for attracting and retaining talent. Mentoring is becoming an important tool for conveying the knowledge and values that not only favor talent management but also promote diversity and inclusion in a global business. Through mentoring, a more experienced person (mentor) provides knowledge, support, and guidance to a less experienced person (mentee) who needs to develop professionally. It involves sharing experiences, providing feedback, setting goals, and encouraging the mentee as they navigate their career path and embark upon personal growth. Mentoring is a crucial leadership skill in a global environment because it facilitates employees' professional and personal development, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing in a multicultural context.
