Abstract
The growing demands on women in academia often come with significant mental health challenges. Balancing research, teaching, service, mentorship, and personal responsibilities places women, particularly those in higher education, at risk for stress, anxiety, burnout, and other mental health issues. These challenges are compounded by systemic barriers such as gender bias, work-life imbalance, and a lack of tailored support networks. As mental health needs increase, institutions are looking for effective ways to address these concerns. This chapter explores mental health support systems specifically designed for women in academia, with a particular focus on solution-focused therapy (SFT) as a practical and innovative approach to fostering well-being.
