Abstract
This chapter explores qualitative research methods in educational leadership, focusing on onboarding processes at state universities. It discusses methodological rigor, case study approach, and data collection methods. The chapter highlights the importance of understanding lived experiences and contextual factors influencing employee engagement and satisfaction. It also examines the role of onboarding in enhancing employee engagement, performance, and retention. The chapter highlights the impact of lack of rigor. The chapter concludes by suggesting solutions and recommendations while discussing implications for future research emphasizing on data driven decision-making and digitalizing the onboatding processes
