Abstract
Sustainable tourism in mountain communities is a critical area of study, balancing economic development with environmental and cultural preservation. This paper examines how mountain communities can achieve a harmonious integration of tourism growth while ensuring sustainability. This study contributes to the broader understanding of sustainable tourism practices, offering actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners. This research provides a comprehensive analysis of the multifaceted impacts of tourism on mountain communities in Himachal Pradesh, focusing on economic, environmental, and social dimensions. Utilizing an extensive range of secondary data from government reports, academic literature, and industry sources, this study employs advanced statistical techniques. The results emphasize the need for targeted investments in sustainable infrastructure, effective waste management strategies, and enhanced community engagement to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and cultural preservation.
