Abstract
Digital medical imagery has revolutionized the field of healthcare by enabling accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of various medical conditions. As technology continues to advance, the future of digital medical imagery holds promise for even greater innovation and impact. This book chapter explores the emerging trends and innovations in digital medical imagery, focusing on key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), augmented reality (AR), and advancements in imaging modalities. The chapter begins by examining the role of AI and ML algorithms in enhancing the interpretation and analysis of medical images, including techniques such as image segmentation, feature extraction, and classification. Additionally, the chapter discusses advancements in imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, and molecular imaging, highlighting innovations in hardware design, image acquisition techniques, and image reconstruction algorithms.
