Abstract

The Indian tourism sector is undergoing a transformative shift by integrating green skills and digital competencies into workforce strategies to align with sustainability goals and digital advancements. This research focuses on identifying essential green skills, such as resource conservation, environmental awareness, and community-centered social responsibility, to promote eco-friendly practices and preserve India's biodiversity and cultural heritage. Additionally, digital competencies, including AI-driven customer interaction tools, virtual engagement platforms, and data analytics, are explored to enhance smart tourism solutions and global appeal. The study aims to develop a comprehensive framework combining green and digital skills to address challenges such as workforce diversity, digital infrastructure gaps, and the need for sustainable practices in rural and eco-sensitive regions. Emphasizing inclusivity, the research will empower SMEs and local communities, enabling active participation in the tourism economy.
