Abstract
The work is aimed at identifying specific features that need to be taken into account when researching and developing passively redundant subsystems, taking into account tolerances for sudden independent failures. It is shown that in this type of redundancy it is necessary to take into account the presence in the same subsystems of assignable and implemented tolerances, multiple and non-multiple redundancy, tolerance scales with different levels of significance, probability ranges of elements, where redundancy is advantageous and unprofitable, etc.
