Expanding Horizons: How Social Media Catalyzes Concrete Advancements in Sustainable Tourism Development
Abstract
Sustainable tourism development is now a global goal shared by all countries. It represents a comprehensive and integrated approach that requires participation from individuals, groups, organizations, and governments at many levels—from local to international. The ultimate goal of sustainable tourism developments in the long-term health of the entire planet, not just its borders or its time restrictions. As a result, it calls for people to behave locally while embracing a global viewpoint. The efficient implementation of initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and the promotion of environmental conservation activities in daily life are contingent upon informed and concerned citizens. Relationship-building procedures have been made easier by the growth of information and communication technology, especially mediated communication, which has also broadened the conversation on sustainable development.
